About
Born in the South of France (Provence), I graduated with a B.A. in English from the University of Avignon and later, with a M.A from the University of Toulon. In 2002, I was selected as a rotary scholar to start a PhD in American Literature at Georgia State University, Atlanta, Ga.
I recently graduated with a joint diploma (PhD and Doctorat) from Georgia State University (GSU) and the Université de Versailles St Quentin en Yvelines (France). My core areas of research comprise Southern American Literature, Victorian Literature and Composition Pedagogy and Theory, especially that related to the use of technology. My research tends to focus on questions concerning:
Masculinity/Masculine rhetoric
Masculine anxieties
Gender studies
Southern gentility/identity
Trauma and memories
Civil war
The Southern renaissance
The New south
From 2007 to December 2008, I have served as Associate Director for the International Educational Exhange between GSU and the University of Versailles-St Quentin en Yvelines, France.
In August 2008 I also gratuated with a Masters in French Studies (High Pass) from the Department of Modern and Classical Languages at GSU.
At GSU, I have taught Rhetoric and Composition classes (including a class on Reading Literature and Writing Argument) as well as a "Survey of American Literature" course. I have also taught Elementary and Intermediate French classes (French 1001, 1002, 2001 and 2002).
Since September 2010, I am a teaching assistant (ATER) at the University of Perpignan. Before that, I have taught english classes at the University of Montpellier 2 (2009-2010) and was a teaching assistant (ATER) at the University of Avignon (2008-2009) where I've taught Translation, Oral and Written Expression, Textual Analysis and Composition classes to undergraduate students.
